Raku Inoue, an artist based in Montreal, is known for his deep appreciation of nature, which serves as the primary inspiration for his artistic endeavors. His portfolio predominantly features artistic representations of various flora and fauna. In his remarkable project titled “Natura Insects,” Inoue ingeniously crafts intricate portraits of insects such as butterflies, moths, ants, beetles, spiders, and dragonflies, utilizing solely flower petals, leaves, and twigs. Prior to incorporating organic materials into his artwork, the artist experimented with diverse mediums and techniques. However, it was in mid-2017 that he ultimately discovered his distinctive style, allowing him to continuously fashion a multitude of organic organisms.
Elaborating on his creative process, Inoue describes it as “an extension of nature imbued with artistic expression.” In essence, he strives to emphasize the innate beauty of nature and subsequently reinterpret it through his own personalized artistic vision.
Below, you can explore a selection of his awe-inspiring creations showcased in the gallery.
