Alisa Lariushkina, an artist based in Vilnius, Lithuania, creates beautiful landscape art with air-dry clay. Her mesmerizing artworks reflect upon nature’s sceneries like grasslands, clouds, and oceans, capturing one’s attention in a magical way.
“I have been working with Japanese air-dry clay since 2015,” Alisa tells At first there were a lot of experiments, I sculpted flowers and flower arrangements, gradually switched to making jewelry and developed my own twisted style. Now I mostly sculpt paintings, framed landscapes. I’ve always wanted to develop and take new heights. Since childhood I have loved to do something with my hands, it suits my introverted temperament.”
The artist further shared, “The process is very meditative and requires perseverance, I mix all the shades of clay with my own hands, then I shape each piece of clay again with my hands and glue it to the canvas and to another piece of clay.”
“I’m bad at sketches so mostly I sculpt spontaneously, which on the one hand can complicate the task, on the other hand, give free rein to the imagination. Take risks and you will be rewarded,” she added.
